Icking up every romance book with even the mention of baseball ately Well to be honest I ve been picking up every book with any kind of sport in it or at The Routledge Handbook of Spanish in the Global City least that s how it seems As for this one Iiked it it was pretty goodFirst things first the baseball I think the baseball was done pretty well in this book I think the inner politics of the sport were well done as well as the dynamics of what goes on behind the scenes to make a baseball team actually function I wouldn t have thought to write a book about a female owner but it s a nice concept and you have to admit when it comes to baseball there aren t a ot of women involved so this was a nice chance Although at the end I was a ittle bit bummed at how uickly Hunter was willing to sacrifice herself you British Jihadism ll see what I mean when you read the bookSo Hunter is a pretty good character Iiked the whole woman owning a team and being the managing partner it s nice to see women in strong roles I also iked that even though she is wealthy she s simple she is comfortable in simple clothing and nothing about her is over the top Hunter did have some jealous tendencies which is normally something that is annoying to me but Marco is a pro athlete who has women throwing themselves at him so I understood the jealousy plus she never throws it in his face or makes it a big issue or anything I also really iked the inner turmoil she had about the relationship she was in the team versus her happiness It definitely heightened the dramaMarco I Wife in Exchange liked aot I The Eternal Ice (Magic: The Gathering: Ice Age Cycle, liked that he wasn t a perfect athlete he didn t step out onto the field and command it He had to work hard at getting into the swing of things Iiked that along the way he realized that the game isn t decided by one person but rather the team I think it s an important Night And Day lesson in sports one that so many people forget I have to say I wish that the plotine with his family had been expanded on I felt Tennessee Takedown / Ravens Hollow like it was used as a catalyst at the end to get Marco to come to the right conclusions to end the book and I really feltike there was meat to the story that could have been fleshed out Plus nothing felt resolved with his father at all But overall I The Cowboy Takes a Bride (The Bridal Bid liked how well Marco and Hunter fit together and how dedicated Marco was to making her happy I alsoiked his inner turmoil about whether he was worthy of Hunter and the dynamics of the bossemployee relationshipOne nitpicky note I thought that the baseball cliches used between Marco and Hunter about there relationship was too much So much of the book is baseball driven that it almost walked into that cheesy realm when they would use baseball metaphors all the time Other then that I would say if you Michaels Discovery (The Devaneys like baseball and romance this is definitely a book you should check out Iook forward to reading books by Kristina Matthews was given a copy of this book to review for Netgalley There is also a review on Cocktails and BooksWORTH THE TRADE is a fast paced entertaining romance about a hot pro baseball player and the woman who owns the team Hunter Collins inherited forty percent of the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team three months ago when her father died Unfortunately she s isn t taken seriously in this male dominated industry Hunter has spent her Shotgun Wedding (Silhouette Yours Truly, life around baseball and surprises people with her extensive baseball knowledge Marco Santiago is the neweft fielder for the Goliaths He s the first player Hunter has acuired since taking over the franchise Hunter isn t the type of woman Marco is usually interested in She is all business including her dress and attitude but something about her draws him in even though he knows he should keep his distance Hunter Life Changing Smiles likes everything about Marco but knows as the owner of the team she can t be involved with one of the players The time Marco and Hunter spend together the they are attracted to each other As the days go by it becomes harder and harder to fight the strong chemistry simmering between them There is combustible heat between Marco and Hunter from the moment they meet Marco is a sexy blue eyed baseball player and also a nice guy He treats Hunter well knows how to make her feel sexy and Ioved when he bought her Innocent Sins (Harlequin Presents, lingerie I admired how hard Hunter works and how important the team is to her Her baseball knowledge was impressive too Marco and Hunter are dealing with insecurities from their pasts and theast thing they want is to jeopardize their careers Kristina Mathew writes and entertaining story that I enjoyed from start to finish. Win Hitting on his new owner probably isn't the best way to get it but Only a Whisper love may be the most powerful challenger either of them has ever faced Warning Stronganguage consummated ove scenes and some baseball clichésSmart fun and sexy A great romance read – New York Times Bestselling Author Kat Martin77606 Word.
Ball ove stories and humor this is the book for you It is the second in the series for Kristin Mathews Here first being Better Than Perfect which I also gave 5 stars too This story revolves around Hunter Collins the daughter of the Brooklyn's Song late owner Henry who just passed from cancer at the beginning of the baseball season Everyone knew that was close to the team that Hunter had been running it pretty much full time since graduating college Stanford by the way You see her daddy bought the San Francisco Goliaths for her when she came toive with him after a Men Are Like Waffles--Women Are Like Spaghetti Devotional Study Guide long period of time of them not talking to each other You see Hunter blamed him for her mother s passing Since he took her everywhere with him even business meetings when he took some important clients to a baseball game and itite up Hunter s face and he and she had something to talk it gave him his in That is when he bought it for her She soaked up everything about the game and in the Plain Jane The Hotshot locker room until she got her boobs that is which totally pissed her off He taught her in and out of the boardroom and the rest came from college With the exception ofove romance and relationships Marco Santiago was a player her dad had seen great potential in a great character in and felt he could be a great asset to the team He just never seemed to be able to acuire him So that is what Hunter fought for and got Except no one told Marco until he was on his way to his stadium in St Louis that he had been traded Now he is on his way to Frisco He is met by Hunter and admits he doesn t want to be there they meet a wall He also doesn t know that she is the boss and even though he hasn t been with anyone in over 6 months he can feel 3 12 starsHunter took over as managing partner for the San Francisco Goliaths baseball team when her father passed away at the start of the season She is a woman in a man s profession and wants to earn their respect She acuires Marco Santiago in a trade and is convinced he is what her team needs to make it to the World Series but it seems he might be just what her heart ordered tooHunter knows her baseball I am a baseball Mom and I thought Hunter s character was very believable I Family of Her Dreams liked her alot and she is the character that kept me reading Marco was aittle flat for me as a character I wanted him to be Marco just seemed to be going through the motions never really embracing the many opportunities he had He talked of the better Blackmailed Into the Italians Bed life he wanted to give his mother but really it was never shown until the end He was a character of words but very few actions and emotionsOne good thing about a baseball book you know the timeline of the plot you can t extend the season My favorite scene was one between Hunter and a reporter where she holds her own and shows her baseball knowledge And that baseball understanding was a highlight for me as the romance was secondary Sadly I didn t feel a romantic connection no real AWWW moment Some things seemed forced and in a way unnecessary just added in not really moving the story along or filling in any holes for meThis book feltike a bridge to me from Book 1 to Book 2 I hope that is the case as Bryce really intrigues me as a character I would also Girls Night Out like to see of Johnny and Alice I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review Marco sure has a smart mouth on him unless you have something else planned for me He raised an eyebrow and flashed one of his dimples He knew all too well how irresistible that smile was Because you own me now So Marco is the type of boy whooves surprises especially if they include Hunter he moved her toward the bed Pulled at the tie around her waist The robe fell open revealing the hot pink Bound To Ransom (Bound Series Book 2) lingerie he d had delivered Oh yeah That sike it Marco uttered his appreciation Damn You re beautiful So so beautiful I Into the Wild (The McGraws, love the conversations Hunter and Marco have Yes I am He nuzzled her neck scattering kisses along her skin Two seconds ago she had been completely satiated but now desire flooded her and she could devour him again So what is your greatest desire She pulled away needing to put some space between them Besides you Heeaned back against the headboard I want what we all want The World Series I want to get you that ring I promisedI Orbital Velocity (Stony Man, love sports romances Iove the men in them and I Cowboy Swagger (Sons of Troy Ledger, loved this book To read this review and othersike it check out my site at wwwhomelovebookscomAs previously mentioned I have an undying Navy Wife (Navy love of baseball And for some reason I have been Ove is to trade for a hoteft fielder He's got it all speed power and a desire to win Not to mention undeniable charm Marco Santiago is tired of being the new player in town After four teams in six years he's facing free agency at the end of the season He wants nothing than a ong term contract and a World Series.
