I just feel like this series keeps getting better nd better But now that I m ll caught up I can t wait for the next book to come outOh nd PS Sean is freakin top teir book boyfriend Give him the gold I discovered this series t the end of last year nd binge read ll of the current books so imagine my delight when I got n ARCIn my opinion the previous books were some of the best new Urban Fantasy I have read in Claiming Her a long timend this new installment was no differentAlice is n incredibly complex well drawn character who has undergone really carefully thought out character development throughout the series That level of characterisation is rare in the paranormal genres in books that s enjoyable s many of them can be re just entertaining trashy reads This series really stands out for me because of thatThe world building is excellent nd keeps growing nd twill has so much potential for I love the way we keep greeting new layers in each book slowly building up our knowledge nd impressionsAlice really goes through the wringer in this one It is fast paced nd ction packed with the duel narrative of Alice post nd ore memory loss working really well in the first half of the book The way it Murder Go Round all resolved was little predictable but with some surprises thrown in tooAlice How Foreign Policy Decisions Are Made In The Third World: A Comparative Analysis and Sean s relationshiplso undergoes some welcome development One of my only gripes with the series has been the level of Alcohol Fuels: Policies, Production, And Potential angst between them but they really move past that herend the memory loss has good rather than negative effect on their relationship I really love Sean He seems too good Cambridge Modern History volumes 1-5 and understanding to be true but it is nice to haven The Heart Of The Hawk (Book 1) alpha character who is unashamedly just good guyMy only small issue is Charles Spices, Saints, and Saracens: The Egyptian Wanderings of a Dominican Friar, 1483 and the revelationsnd the way this was dealt with I ve never thought Charles was viable option for Alice nd I don t think the Empire of the Waves: Voyage of the Moon Child author has ever made itppear so which is why I ve been The Object of Performance: The American Avant-Garde since 1970 able to tolerate its I despise love triangles s lazy plot device to manufacture relationship drama This has never really felt like love triangle lthough it has t times come close Charles is n interesting side character nd I felt like he was one is bit of disservice here s he never got I Was Anastasia a chance to explain himselfThe next book has been set up to deal withll sorts of issues exciting Choice of the Cat and challenging for Alice Seannd the gang Three Cups of Deceit and Ibsolutely cannot wait to real The Year of the Brief Reviewand this year is Sparrow Road already 12 months to long Despite being HUGE fan of Lisa s books this one just wasn t for meI just can t stand the use of moving back A Banner With a Strange Device: A Novel of Boston and forward in time in story Despite the fact that it didn t reveal ll nd there was nice twist t the end it still felt like reading the end first I Winners Take All: The Elite Charade of Changing the World am clearly too linear in thinking Yes I did have something ruder in mind So please don t let this review stop you reading the book Im sure you will enjoy it 35 Better than I expectedI don t normally like books in The Point of It All: A Lifetime of Great Loves and Endeavors a series where the MC forgets their memory so I was very pleasantly surprised to see that I really enjoyed this one yaygain for AliceUnfortunately I felt like I was reading Yoga: The Art of Adjusting a filler book Not much happened in the main plotnd I was very excited to see how it would go Mage private investigator Alice Worth must solve the most difficult case of her career her ownA magic induced bloodbath during Vampire Court gala leaves Alice nd her boyfriend The Neural Basis of Free Will alpha werewolf Sean Maclin wounded Alicend her ghost sidekick Malcolm reluctantly gree to investigate the deadly supernatural ttack When they vanish without trace.

NOh well still very good series nd I m still very excited to see where the story goes nd what happens in the next book Only half Locked and Loaded (U.S. Marshals, a year left to wait until the next book is released s I love this series in generalnd I re read the first four in preparation for this fifth release Unfortunately this turned out to be my least favorite by far The Past Destinies author still writes well I still love the seriesnd plan to continue but for the bad parts1 Amnesia I hate it Loathe it If it s the plot of Travels: Collected Writings, 1950-1993 a standalone Ivoid it Having Amnesia in the main character for If Wishes Were Horses almost the entire book right in the middle of series is nightmare I don t feel like seeing her meet people ll over gain nd discover things ll over gain I d rather get plot progression from the events of the last book More development in relationships instead of her not remembering nyone Argh2 Dual POV Alice was lways single pov The uthor probably due to the mnesia or maybe wanting to change this to PNR than Urban FantasyMystery mainly told this through Sean s POV I love Sean but I don t like romantic dual POV We lready know how he feels bout her so having it repeated in her head then his directly made it repetitive Rainbow Brite: Starlite Saves the Day and dull3 Not much plot There s some backnd forth time shifts in the storyline but really this one has the slowest plot out of the Alice Worth books The majority is spent with her A Social History of Modern Art, Volume 2: Art in an Age of Bonapartism, 1800-1815 and Sean going over lot of the same ground they ve lready covered in previous books nd few scenes with Nan nd Carly There s cool sorcerer battle but the book is large nd it needed The Unspeakable Mind actionnd direction I will say we got potent moment out of the real Alice s past that was well written4 The uthor has decided to kill Time and Philosophy: A History of Continental Thought any good relationship with Charles I m team Seanll the way but I liked Alice s bond of Murder at Beechwood at least friendship with the vamp That was pretty much tossed out the window now5 There s no connection tonyt Okay I was worried until bout halfway through this book I really like this series nd look forward to every new release butmemory loss is NOT trope I like so the first half of the book was ok I was going to bitch slap Alice for while there but she got her shit together nd finally realized what dick the vampire isI will say I thought there would be Ask an Astronaut: My Guide to Life in Space about her grandfathers that is where imo the storyline is going This felt Revelations from Revelation (Mass Market) a bit like filler book but enjoyed the writing Jane and the Stillroom Maid (Jane Austen Mysteries, and characters nonethelessREAD THIS SERIES if your into urban fantasy Never trust the vampiresI lldmit that with Crude World: The Violent Twilight of Oil all of the bad stuff going on in real life with Covid 19 Im looking for my reads to be completely unreal Paranormal nd historical romance is what I m craving so I m not trying to gauge how they the characters would be coping with the Corona Virus Sure I wouldn t mind having the vampires come in nd give back to the community by donating their blood to cure the virus I lso wouldn t mind werewolf or two sharing their noses to sniff out the carriers I m Alien: Sea of Sorrows also little bit jealous of the characters getting to go out on coffee dates Sure I can have coffee datesas long Journey Of Fate as Ipply social distancing don t sit down in Judas of Nazareth: How the Greatest Teacher of First-Century Israel Was Replaced by a Literary Creation a public eatingrea Or better yet stay home Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear. Take the Leap. Live On Purpose. and make it myself Maybe unreal doesn t really shut. Sean his packnd the Court form n uneasy lliance to locate them Days later Sean finds Alice on the side of the road far from home with no memory Holding Up the Universe and no magicnd no sign of MalcolmFor Sean Alice’s condition means starting over with the woman he loves For Alice it’s chance to escape painful memories of her violent past but she knows she.
